Sharing Web Resources
The link to the international website I have chosen comes from the World Forum Foundation, and it is https://worldforumfoundation.org/.  This organization focuses on providing early childcare professionals with opportunities to assist young children throughout the world.  As well as early childhood educators, early childhood advocates also assist in helping young children by providing the children with and creating safe environments that promote children’s learning.   On the website, one of the issues that the World Forum Foundation (2017) highlights is children’s rights.  For instance, in the children’s rights section, it talks about what resources are available for advocates and how they can utilize them to defend young children.  Advocating for young children is an important issue in the early childcare profession because all children need to have a voice, especially if there are situations in which children are neglected and/or abused and when there are families who need resources that will help their children receive a quality education.  These resources are influenced by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN-CRC) and “as experienced by children in diverse contexts around the world” (World Forum Foundation, 2017, p. 1).  The resources consists of articles that gives information to advocates and early childcare professionals regarding that explain techniques and ways in which best assist young children when it comes to protecting the children’s rights.  Furthermore, as I continue to examine the resources on the World Forum Foundation’s (2017) website, I came across other aspects that the organization focuses on, and those issues are: “children’s homes, curriculum, design, HIV/AIDS, Indigenous people, men in early childhood education (ECE), nature, peace building, play, and special needs” (p. 1).  These issues are also vital to the early childhood profession because they are addressed via articles and guidelines that are used to progress children’s learning from multiple perspectives. Sharing resources this week has taught me to thoroughly examine what the World Forum Foundation truly has to offer so that people throughout the world can receive assistance and/or resources to initiate, cultivate, and sustain children’s learning and success.
