Job/Roles in the ECE Community: National/Federal Level Week 4
The first organization I chose is the Council for Professional Recognition.  The reason why I chose this organization is because the field of early childhood education provides a multitude of organizations that support the professional development of early childhood teachers and that promote improvements in services to young children.  Currently, there are no positions available.  However, a position I would be interested in with this organization is a CDA Professional Development Specialist.  I would take on this position because I believe I could share information with others on how to work and how to build relationships with families, community members, and with other colleagues.  The education for this position is as follows: 
Candidates must hold a minimum of a Baccalaureate or Associate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines:
Early Childhood Education/Child Development
Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education
Home Economics/Child Development
Early Childhood Education/Child Development
Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education
Home Economics/Child Development
The degree must include, at minimum, 18 semester or 24 quarter hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, studying children birth through 5 years.
Furthermore, the experience for this position and its requirements are:

PERSONAL
Must be able to relate to people of various racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Must be knowledgeable about local, state, and national requirements and standards for child care programs serving children aged birth through 5 years.
Must be able to schedule and conduct Verification Visits during normal operating hours of early childhood programs
PD Specialists conducting bilingual Verification Visits must be bilingual.
PD Specialists conducting monolingual Verification Visits must speak the language of the assessment.
EXPERIENCE
Option 1For those with a Baccalaureate degree, two years in a child care setting serving children from birth to 5 years of age to include:
One year working directly with children as a caregiver, teacher, child life worker, social worker, or similar role and one year facilitating the professional growth of at least one other adult.
Option 2For those with an Associate degree, four years in a child care setting serving children from birth to 5 years of age, to include:
Two years working directly with children as a caregiver, teacher, child life worker, social worker, or similar role and two years facilitating the professional growth of at least one other adult.
The second organization I chose is the Center for American Progress.  The reason why I chose this organization was because it assists with placing more effective teachers to improve school systems.  The position that I am interested in is the Vice President of Education Policy.  The reason why I would choose this position is because I want to promote positive change in the early childhood field through making policies that provide children with high-quality education and early childhood programming.  The requirements and qualifications are as follows: 
- Master’s degree or equivalent in training and experience.
 - At least 10 years of professional experience in education policy or other relevant field.
 - Experience in managing a team.
 - Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and analytic ability.
 - Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills.
 - Demonstrated detailed knowledge and understanding of education policy, including federal education programs.
 - Demonstrated ability to develop new policy ideas that promote educational opportunity and equity.
 - Comfort with working under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 - Ability to multitask and prioritize.
 - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.
 
Moreover, the educational requirements are not listed on this website, it would probably be a standard education which would be a four-year degree from a university/college.
The third organization I chose is the RAND Cooperation.  I chose the RAND Corporation because it offers federal and state child care programs that can assist children with childcare. Programs in this category are designed to improve child welfare and reduce the costs of government intervention later in the child's life. The position I am interested in with this organization is the Administrative Assistant to the Office Director. The following are the qualifications and requirements to fulfill the position:
