Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

The first international organization that interest me is the Inclusive Education Network.  This organization has a worldwide campaign called “Education for All (EFA),” a movement that is a global commitment to provide quality basic education for all children, youth, and adults.  The job that interests me is the principal position.  I am interested in this position because I want to be a leader in the early childhood field, especially when it comes to providing all children and families with an education.  Although there are no qualifications and/or requirements listed for this position, it is imperative that an individual who functions in this capacity has to be able to know the curriculum, know teaching methods and know learning strategies that work for diverse learners so that he or she recognizes the needs of students who are receiving special education services (Inclusive Education Network, 2018, p. 1).  I would think that a four-year degree from an accredited university or college as well as a number of years of experience is needed to fulfill this position.
The second organization that is interesting to me is the Association For Childhood Education International (ACEI).  This organization believes that “every child should have access to a quality education which prepares him or her to become a responsible and engaged citizen” (Association For Childhood Education International, 2018, p. 1).  The job opportunity that is interesting to me is the Early Learning Center Director position.  This position captured my attention because I want to own a daycare center one day, and I want to ensure that all children are reaching their maximum development while they are participating in my high-quality educational programs at a minimal cost.  The requirements and/or qualifications to fill this position are: candidates should have one year of experience of childcare and management, and they should have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
The third organization I chose is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  The priorities of this organization are to assist with: (1) Education and development of young children; (2) family support, and (3) educating parents and training educators (UNESCO, 2018, p. 1). The position that interests me is the program specialist opening in the Social and Human Services division.  I am interested in this position because I want to be more hands-on when supporting families and children through education and through their development to improve their lives.  The education that is needed for this position is a Master’s degree in the social and human services field, political science field, or another related field of study.  Candidates must have at least seven years of experience working in the social and human services field at the national and/or the international level.  Skills include: excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to fundraise, and the ability to establish relationships with other organizations, companies, and stakeholders.
