My Wonderful Family

My mother was a strong person who put my siblings and me through Catholic School.  She believed that education was important for children. I have a close, yet dependent relationship with my mother because of her provisions.  She worked to provide for my siblings and me.  My grandparents would babysit us while my mom went to work and nursing school.  This relationship was also dependent, but nurturing because they would read to my sibling and me and take us to and from school.  My godparents on the other hand, and my older cousins would assist with babysitting.  They nurtured me because they would assist my siblings and me with my homework, and they would play games with us as well.
Currently, my family influences me and impacts me, and they continue to impact my present life because they are always supportive of me.  For example, when I received my associate’s degree, my bachelor’s degree, and my first master’s degree, my family were very proud of me.  They are always there as they continue to support my development through our social interactions and for emotional support.  If it was not for my support system, I do not believe I would have valued education as much as I do, and I do not believe that I would have made this far in achieving my goals.  Despite their love and care for me throughout my life, we have an interdependent relationship amongst each other, for we always support each other at all times.

  2. It is so wonderful to hear that you have so many supporting your dreams and aspirations. I do believe that it take a village to raise a child and I believe it takes the support of a family to help one person succeed. I think families balance each other out and help each other out just as they support you im sure you support them in their endeavors as well. Very blessed to have such a great family. Congradulations on getting your first masters degree, Im sure your second masters will be that much sweeter!
