Personalizing Your Blog

This is my Preschool graduation picture.

My favorite book as a child the Nursey Rhymes from Mother Goose.  This was my favorite book because my mother and my grandmother used to read it to me by singing the nursey rhymes like “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Humpty Dumpty.”

This is one of my Preschool student’s picture.  I choose this picture because it has vivid images.  I remember as a child, I had the opportunity to have a limitless imagination and unlimited creativity.  I used to love drawing pictures as a child.

  1. Hi Teresa,
I love the drawing. Children are very smart. Many times we think that they are drawing circles and other things, but after they are finish there is a story behind it. I love watching my students draw and having them tell me about their picture when they are finished.

  2. Hi Teresa,
Children's drawings are so fresh and innocent. I think they speak volumes to adults. I took a class that was titled Celebrating the Arts. Something that stood out to me was that we were told not to interpret the child's drawing for them. We should always allow them to tell the story behind their drawings. I use that with my preschoolers currently and now love to hear what they come up with.

  3. I really enjoy reading books now as an adult because It was one of my fondest memories of myself when I was a child because my mother taught me to read at the young age of 4 years old and I have loved books ever since. I think I LOVE reading even as an adult because I always I associate it with fond memories which brings happiness so I feel like if I can associate good things with reading I can impact a child to love reading as much as I do.
